OPTEX Development

In the summer of 2023, Cyclife Digital Solutions, a subsidiary of the Cyclife group, responded to and won a call for tenders launched by GIFEN (Groupement des industriels français de l’énergie nucléaire) with the aim of overhauling the transport planning process for waste packages through the development of a dedicated IT application.

This solution, designed for the various players in the waste supply chain, i.e. waste producers (EDF, Orano, CEA), transporters, certain waste processing facilities (CENTRACO, Cyclife France) and Andra – Agence nationale pour la gestion des déchets radioactifs – disposal centers (CIRES and CSA), aims to streamline the exchange of information between parties, avoid multiple entries, and improve the traceability and security of exchanges as part of the planning of waste package transportation.

The development of this application, named OPTEX (Optimisation Transport Planning et Exutoire), was completed on time and on budget, with the launch of OPTEX V1.0 scheduled for the start of the 2024 academic year.

The winning and completion of this project is a strategic success for Cyclife Digital Solutions, as part of the growth of its Digital Transformation activities, in particular the development of customized IT solutions in the dismantling – waste and, more broadly, nuclear sectors.
